I am thankful and grateful for the tough times, my family (isn't it odd the above order? -- perhaps not!), and my friends.
"Friends are very special people; they need to be handled with special care. If you're blessed enough like I am, family are friends and friends are family. Love all my friends ;-)" ~from my Facebook post, November 20, 2011
It's the morning after this year's Thanksgiving celebration and I'm feeling an enormous multitude of gratitude. For everything, right down to the piece of peanut butter fudge I had as dessert to my ham-sandwich-breakfast today!
I write this from my daughter's family room, watching a bit of morning television and the beautiful sunrise. I've caught up a bit on the social media sites, too, while sipping on a cup of delicious chocolate-glazed-donut flavored coffee.
Today will be quiet compared to yesterday's happenings, yet the warmth and smells of the day spill over in the recess of my memory.
Canada's day of thanksgiving happened last month, in October. Other countries such as Korea, India, and the United Kingdom celebrate during harvesting. (www.thanksgiving-day.org) Regardless of the holiday name, how or where thanks is given, it is in celebration of abundance and gratitude.
Transition. Dreams. Transformation.
Can you be in a constant state of thanksgiving? How could you get you there? What abundance might come into your life?
“The test of our progress is not whether we add to the abundance of those who have much. It is whether we provide enough to those who have little.”
~Franklin D. Roosevelt
