How Can This Post Be Different?

12/31/2009

Yup, this was the question that came to mind when wondering what I would write for the last day of 2009 on my blog. "How can I be different?"
Well, it has been one heck of a different year--that's for sure!

If you've been with me for awhile you know that last January I found out my job after 21 years with Northwest Airlines was being eliminated. Mine wasn't the only one.

Now one might think this is a horrible way to begin a year. But if you've been with me, you know that I found the news actually freeing. How can I say that? Because I prepared myself for the possibility.

Well, if you believe in laws of attraction, you might say I asked to get laid off. That might just be the reason. Even if this what happened I have used this law of attraction the remaining of the year.

I had the most wonderful experiences all year long, meeting the most wonderful people from all over the world. I've never done that while working for an international airline!!

God has been very good to me this year and He even saw to it that my kids gave me Elmo LIVE for Christmas! I've only wanted Elmo--any Elmo--for many years!

The Twelve Months of Twenty-o-Nine.
January: The first month of my new life. I was set free to do anything I chose!
February: My husband, Mark, and I traveled to the Smoky Mountains.
March: My last day at NWA but celebrated with friends and family!
April: Discovered exercise can be bad for your health by being slammed into a wall after "falling" off the treadmill! (It was pretty funny actually.) Signed on with Marcia Wieder to become a Certified Dream Coach.
May: Youngest son graduated from college!
June: Back on treadmill after my knee healed! Traveled to Pennsylvania to see daughter/son-in-law, Oklahoma to see brother- and sister-in-law. Got new flooring in the kitchen and living room.
July: Hosted a "goodbye NWA" gathering with friends and family. Mark and I took a dream trip to Maine (Portland and Bar Harbor).
August: Installed new bath tub. Wrote my first book, "fiftysomething" about my thoughts and experiences leaving a job after so many years and who were the greatest influences in my life.
September: Published, "fiftysomething," and this website was born.
October: Attended Dream Day with Marcia Wieder in Corte Madera, California. Second website, My Dream Architect.com was born (still under construction).
November: Attended another conference, this time in Huntington Beach, California with Adam Urbanski's Attract Clients Like Crazy bootcamp where my book, "fiftysomething" was featured by Donna Kozik (click here to be part of her Book 'em & Hook 'em class!). And THEN I received a contract job for the same type of work I did at Northwest!!!
December: This month brings to close a year that was filled with so much excitement, new opportunities, new friends, new family members (births, weddings), and a life filled of dreams come true.

I had been reminded just the other day that my dream life--as stated a few years ago--was to wake, drink my morning coffee while reading the paper, with my dog at my feet and then retiring to my den to begin my day of writing.

I am living my dream life. Are you ready to live yours?

Dream on,
Peggy Lee

In the Clear

If you live anywhere along Interstates 35 and 29 or 90 and 94 in the Dakotas, Minnesota and Wisconsin, you have spent the last few days in snow, sleet or rain. Today the sun has finally broken through here in West Central Wisconsin. It was a very Merry White Christmas. Hope it was for you, too.

I only asked for one thing this year--the same thing I've been asking for the past few years--a Tickle Me Elmo. My children had difficulty finding him, but they found Elmo LIVE! which is just as good. I've been having fun with Elmo and can't wait for my great nieces and nephews to meet him next week when they are all here for our extended family Christmas celebration.

During the quiet of the past few days led me to a few thoughts. One of the more important thoughts was I'm better with people than alone. If alone, I'm more prone to be a bit sulky and sad, yet it's times when I'm alone that I become--or remain--the person that I am: loving and caring about the others in my life. I constantly think of my friends and family. I am forever blessed and grateful they are in my life. That they are still in my life is the best present I could ever receive.

Have a great day and Dream On!

Christmas Eve 2009

It is almost time here in West Central Wisconsin for that magical night to begin. The time when it gets dark, for Santa will arrive in just a few short hours.

It is a very different "eve" this year. I've had to work all week, not having the time to prepare for this wonderful season of joy. Because of this my concentration level plummeted. I thought more about my friends and family whose cards didn't get mailed, whose presents didn't get bought or made. But I did make time last evening to send out an e-card or two or several!

At any rate, for all my fans who read me everyday, I say to you, thank you number one, and number two.... a very merry christmas.

Dream On!

Something else in mind....

I never know what I'm going to write about when I open my blog, but today is different. I have the best thing to offer anyone who is trying something different in their life, something different if they are going through any type of transition, job loss or wanting to begin your own business. THIS IS FOR YOU!

What if you could gain the specific know-how and strategies to add an extra six, and even seven-figures in annual sales to your current business without working any harder? I'm not kidding here...actually met those who have did this!

Remember me telling you that a few weeks ago, I attended a four day marketing training program designed exclusively for service professionals? It has changed the way I look at building my business and attracting customers.

Here are just some of the things I discovered:

=> How to quickly take your business from zero to all the new clients you want - starting from scratch and on a shoestring budget.

=> Why the methods used by 99% of professionals to build their practice or business don't work - and exactly what methods you need to use instead!

=> The best thing to promote and sell when you need to build your business (and cash flow) very fast!

=> Simple tweak that takes no time and no money yet will instantly multiply the response you get from your marketing by 10, 20, even 30 times!

=> How to stand out in an overcrowded market and grab attention of your ideal potential clients!

=> The complete step-by-step system for generating leads, following up, getting appointments, and closing the sale!

Now, I'm telling you all this because for just another day Adam Urbanski, the guy who teaches this program, is offering the recordings of it as self-study program!!!

It's called Attract Clients Like Crazy Marketing System. To see the details of Adams offer go to this website http://tinyurl.com/yakqabs .

I have started using these strategies, and I can already see that this is going to make a big difference in my business in the next year and beyond.

You probably never heard of Adam before, and chances are you think I'm crazy for writing this long blog. But let me tell you why you should pay attention to this message and to all the strategies this guy is teaching.

By the time he was 29 he's built his first multimillion dollar business in the restaurant industry - starting with only $194 and a very limited ability to speak English.

He then set out to teach his maverick marketing methods to other entrepreneurs and the results are impressive:

-> One client went from barely making $1,000 a month to building a six-figure business in only 9 months.

-> Another client started from total stand-still and made $9,000 in his new business in only one week.

-> One of Adam's students made over $100,000 in a weekend, then took three months off!

-> Another new business went from making $800 with first teleseminar to $10,000/month just 5 months later!

-> One client recently made over $123,000 in just six weeks with a brand new program with a very, very small list!

And this is only a short list of hundreds of documented testimonials from Adam's clients. And I KNOW who some of these people are!! I could go on and on. But I think you get my point.

Bottom line is this. Adam is offering a pre-publication deal on this course to his current customers. As a program graduate I have permission to offer this deal to my business friends.

And that's why I'm sending you this message.

I have to warn you. Adam's training isn't cheap. He doesn't sugarcoat things and reveals very specific strategies that will help you grow your business.

That way I looked at making this investment was this: even getting one extra client because of this program would pay back for my investment. And everything else is extra money. Since attending Adam's program I had added to my list.

Plus, Adam offers 100% satisfaction guarantee. So you can give the program a try. And if you don't think it's as good as I'm telling you it is, simply ask for your money back.

I promise you, you don't want to miss out on getting this information. And, with this pre-publication offer this is a really good deal.

Once again, here is the link http://tinyurl.com/yakqabs.

All good wishes and Dream On,
PeggyLee

P.S. A series limitation you should know about. You only have one day to explore this invitation. The pre-publication sale ends tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 5pm Pacific Time. So go ahead and explore this right now. I hope this is helpful.

Hearts, Dreams, Wishes, and Christmastime

12/16/2009

From my book, "fiftysomething; The Unknown, Dreams, and Paths,"  I hope you enjoy it.

Hearts. One of my favorite Christmas stories is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole
Christmas. Although I absolutely love Ron Howard’s movie rendition, it is Boris
Karloff’s narration of the cartoon version that remains my favorite. The Grinch,
with his heart two sizes too small…. And it grew and it grew and it grew and grew.

That is exactly how my heart feels with people who are in my life that have
supported me. And oddly enough they are friends who I now consider family.
Each one brings a different element that I love, which in turn, loving them for it.

At times I can sound like a broken record (—funny how that euphemism is
outdated these days; do young people even know what that sounds like?) But I feel so strongly about letting people know they are loved and appreciated, it’s my “never-ending story.” I would not be here today without their caring, their
friendship, their insight, their patience, their selves. I feel no different about my husband or my children. They have all helped shape me to who I am today.

Some of those who I feel closest to, when thinking of all I have received, bring me to tears. Lying in bed watching my husband read or sleep sets me off; thinking of my oldest son’s birth; ….

Dream On!

Begin Anew

12/15/2009

I sure am having a hard time writing every night after a long day. So today, I begin again to make the promise of posting each day.

The first time I heard this adage was from my last (and BEST) manager at the airline. She had a big picture in her office. I messed up something I thought huge and she directed me to the picture. And for the life of me now, I can't think of that wonderful series of photographs.

Anyway, I've heard that saying over and again and it's one that is embedded in my brain which has become automatic for me. Every morning I wake and think: Today is a new day and I can change to be the person I truly want to be and correct my mistakes of yesterday.

And you know what? Because of this mantra, I only have to correct the mistakes literally of YESTERDAY--not a month ago, not a year ago. I have corrected those mistakes and have moved on.

I just got off the phone with our local hospital's foundation. they are looking for donations for a new Heart machine. How can I not donate for such a cause? I donated for the Free Clinic--a service that is always needed in every community. I've put change and even a dollar or two in the red buckets this holiday season--something that I rarely did.

Begin anew? Yes. I am beginning a new. I have a new lease on life and am very happy in mine. Sure there are ups and downs, but there are mostly ups. I am working; I have many new wonderful friends; I have many more old wonderful friends. I have a wonderful family of my own--my husband, three children, a son-in-law, and now a lovely girl that makes my youngest son smile big and wide.

Yes, get me talking about beginning anew and I'll talk your ear off. That leads into being positive and having a great attitude. Give a little of yourself this holiday season. Be Mr. Scrooge after he wakes up--all happy and giddy inside. Donate some change. Donate some time. Donate a laugh.

Yea! Another "It'sCharlie Brown! Christmas"

Tell me what you're doing to be Mr. Scrooge on Christmas morning!

Dream On!

Oh the weather outside is Frightful!

The snow fell right along with the temperatures. I'm so glad to have been able to stay home today and not have to venture out. But then, no travel was being advised, all Wisconsin state schools were closed with the government offices. I don't think mail even was delivered today. Oh yeah, and the garbage pickup was even delayed a day.

This installment will be short. Sorry fans, but I'm a bit under the weather and very tired. I woke last night around midnight with a nightmare and feeling the effects because it seemed so real.

Have a great day!

Christmas Snow

12/8/2009

This is what I call the light, glistening snow that falls--and it's falling as I write--and it is beautiful! I hated to brush off Thor when letting him back in the house.

I think this type of snowfall is special for me because it reminds me of Christmases as a little girl--a LONG time ago :-) !!

We didn't decorate much around the house, but we did have a tree with all the trimmings and always a nativity scene set up. Putting the figurines in place was my favorite thing to do--that and placing the "snow" around the 3-sided shelter. This snow glistened in much the same way as the snow falling today.

Christmas snow brings a warm feeling to my inner being, one that could almost be magical! Ah, the three wise men, the Magi bring gifts after following that shiny star.

Another fond memory of snow: It's 6:30 at night. My dad is in the barn finishing up with the milking chores. The all-night-yard-light brightens up the pump hill and the driveway that winds up around to the back of the barn. I get the sled down off the hook in the garage and take it to the top of the pump hill. The snow is packed just right to get enough speed built up to make it back down to the garage. WHOOSH!

The snow and weather outside may be cold, but it sure brings warm memories.

Charlie Brown's Christmas is on--have to go!

Oh, one last thing. If you're reading this from my link on Facebook and you like what you see, would you mind going back to Facebook and do a "Like?" Sure would appreciate it. Comments welcomed, too!

Have a great evening!

Dream On!

Unsuspecting Surprise

12/7/2009

If you follow me on LinkedIn, you will see that someone wrote a recommendation for me. This was a total surprise, one that warmed my heart from his generosity and kind words.

Jim and I go back a few years. I always enjoyed his presence because he had this wonderful smile that never seemed to wane, his eyes twinkling, dimples showing, with a quiet sense of humor.

One never knows what impact you will have on others, but clearly, if you can, keep up a cheery disposition in any adverse situation gains a certain awe and admiration from others.

I also today had message on Facebook from a past co-worker (who knows Jim  too). We worked closely in the union representative capacity of my career. bob periodically writes, but find it warming as well he keeps in touch.

Every woman who worked in the Tech Training area called the men in the department, "my guys," with much pride. And most of the guys felt protective of us females. It was a great eight years of my airline life being in that department.

But you know, out of the twenty-one years I spent with the airline, I only had maybe one or two bad years; however, I was going through some stuff myself and it's hard to be happy and upbeat all the time.

Yet I learned to conquer it all and people only see the best in me and that is what I try to pass on to others: the best of me.

Today is December 7, anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombings. Please remember our service men and women past and present.

Dream on!

“Let me be a little kinder, Let me be a little blinder To the faults about me; Let me praise a little more, Let me be, when I am weary; Just a little bit more cheery, Let me serve a little better Those that I am striving for. Let me be a little braver When temptation bids me waver, Let me strive a little harder To be all that I should be; Let me be a little meeker to the brother that is weaker; Let me think more of my neighbor and a little less of me.” --unknown

An Exercise in Blessings

12/6/2009

First off, my apologies to my followers for not keeping up with my daily promise. Sometimes family stuff gets in the way, however, rest assured, you are never far from my thoughts. With that said, it is time to count my blessings.

Blessings come in all shapes, sizes, and types. Are you aware of all the blessings in your life?

From where you are sitting, look around you. What do you see? Look closely at one object, staying focused on it. Record every detail of that item in your mind. Do you remember how that item was acquired? Recall what you had in abundance at the time of acquisition: the dollars, the friend, or maybe even the time.

Now move onto another object. What do you see? Are you able to see the item more intimately quicker than the first? Even so, stay focused on it as you had the first. Follow the next steps. When they are complete, try this exercise on a third. After this object, relax, recall, and note your thoughts while going through the entire exercise.

This is the beginning of seeing what is abundant in your life, not what is lacking, and eventually, you will only see what you have, therefore, opening the door to receiving more.

Dream on!
