I loved playing softball as a kid and young adult. Ours was the place that had a yard big enough for a field almost regulation-sized. Whether it was big family get-togethers or just a friendly neighborhood game, hours went by, often playing until dusk.
What if you played your life as a game of ball?
You get fit with exercising daily. You practice running the bases throughout the day. You step up to the plate to face whatever pitch is thrown at you. You then take a swing. Sometimes you miss the ball; sometimes you hit it out of the park. And other times you simply strike out.
But you don’t let that stop you. You keep coming back to play because you love the game.
This week signals the beginning of baseball’s regular season. My team is the Minnesota Twins. I’ve watched games on TV and have seen them play in person, almost catching one of their foul balls – and nearly breaking the three middle fingers of my left hand as well!
Also, this week signals the beginning of a new business adventure for me as I prepare for a hectic, yet welcomed, schedule of being interviewed on two telesummits and hosting my own. The first one is Coffee with Soul, where throughout the month of April, seven presenters discuss how to shine your own light, how to move through life-changes, living with chronic illnesses, how breathing can relax you, how to perform passionately and purposefully, and how to build a business on a shoestring budget.
So, I’m finishing up my spring training, running my bases daily, keeping my eyes on the ball, and practicing my swing so that I’m ready when I step up to the plate.
I love this game!
How do you prepare for your game day?
