And yet, I fall victim to the negative prospects, the why-aren’t-things-happening-the-way-I-want, the feeling-sorry-for-myself, and why-bother attitude. I kept saying to myself and to others, “I’m tired,” and they either concurred with their own stories or validate mine.
I had been sick over the New Year holiday which contributed to my demise. The fact is I had been tired, but the counterpoint of that fact is that I did nothing about it—I stayed tired. I gave myself permission to take the time necessary to get better. I do teach this to my clients, yet I insist on more structure. Now it’s time to turn that structure back to me!
Here’s how you can be sure to stay awake, alert, and alive each and every day in your life, your business, your relationships.
- Set an alarm clock so you don’t oversleep or go past your self-imposed time.
- Setting your language barometer is just as important—it may be the preventive medicine you need to keep you from oversleeping in the first place. Go ahead; keep up with Pollyanna!
- Set your thermostat to HOT! Keep that passion up if you’ve lost sight of it; re-examine what brought you to your work in the first place. If you need to re-evaluate, then do so, but keep the mercury at peak levels!
I have since woken up from my slumber. I’ve found renewed energy to keep me going. I do believe that I needed to have and experience this time to become more aware of my language and how quickly it can lead me to the quicksand pit.
If you continually say to yourself that you’re tired, you’re sick, things just aren’t working out for you, I highly encourage you to exchange the negative for the positive thinking. No, just being positive won’t bring immediate riches, but it will change your life!
Take it from me! At least try it for a couple days, won’t you? Remove all negative thoughts and words. Let me know how it goes. I am most interested in your results --- and happiness!
To your success,
“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality . Wake Up and Live!” ~Bob Marley
