Today i met with two of my fellow Dream Coaches; what a wonderful way to wind up a beautiful birthday (the day after).
On my way home i drove behind a small light truck that looked like how my dog used to walk: with his rear-end as his directional navigation, bowed out to the right! How can something so misaligned go straight on any given path?
Do you feel aligned? Are you heading in a straight line? Do you feel your behind is driving you?
Now that last question is very ambiguous, isn't it?!? "Behind" could mean either your derriere or that you're behind schedule in a task or project.
Today, for me, "behind" refers to my schedule in my commitment for this blog challenge I'm in. The question was asked yesterday from someone who I admire: Do you keep your commitments? My answer then was, "yes."
How am I responding today when I know that I haven't kept up my end of the bargain? Well, I hear justification from those voices I heard the other day. I hear judgment in my reconciliation. I hear, "you made a promise that was not followed through with."
The answers I retort back are: "But I did better than the first time I did this challenge," and "There's always October!"
If I were coaching a client with this dilemma, I'd say those answers are balanced; and then I'd ask, "Do you feel OK with where you are? Can you feel complete by having an incomplete?"
My answer today is, "Yes, I can!" The reason? Because I have gained so much from being part of this challenge with the new friends I've met, the experience of writing on the fly, and reading -- along with learning from -- so many wonderfully brilliant posts that I feel fulfilled and satiated.
After all that, I feel aligned and going in a straight line toward my destination.
Do you feel in alignment? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Have a great day and Dream On!
