If you are positive…
If you have a good outlook…
One of the most important things in a person's life, I believe, is to let go. Let go of the past, though remember it to help you help others and continue to help yourself.
Remembering or acknowledging our past to another helps us to let go and therefore, is good for the soul. Confession, for the lack of a better word, doesn't have to mean telling someone your sins or failings, it can be the sharing of your innermost feelings, what you've accomplished, and conquered, too.
It is the awakening of your soul. Admission doesn't show weakness -- it shows courage that breeds strength.
“You are the wind behind my sail these past months, gently blowing me into uncharted waters, into a sea of infinite possibility.
“We no longer have to talk about the bad things in our life. Does it serve a purpose? Brings people together, I suppose, enough to learn we are not alone in how we feel.
“I have moved on, tried to make my life count. You have helped me to lift weights off my shoulders that have been holding me down for so many years. All because you saw something in me and acted on it – how can I begin to repay you for that?”
The above was written to a dear friend of mine who helped me begin to realize that compassion and acceptance lives through friendship; the transgressions thought as horrific are no longer so, because we are no longer that person who committed them.
If you believe, if you have a positive attitude, if you have a good outlook on life, you have the freedom to go forth and create in this world a beauty unknown and unheralded to none.
Really, I’m not about the past. I am all about the future and it is AWESOME! I can’t wait for the next day of my life to be here. I have new friends, a new business. I look forward to grandchildren.
What can you let go of? What do you look forward to? What beauty can you create in this world?
“The experience of each new age requires a new confession, and the world seems always waiting for its poet” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
