“Gratitude alone can keep you looking toward the all, and prevent you from falling into the error of thinking of the supply as limited.” ~The Science of Getting Rich, p.29
It is the day after the Boston Marathon bombing. A sad day, indeed. Lives were lost. Lives were changed forever.
As I watched the news unfold I thought to myself how now is the time once again for all to stop with the political rhetoric and bashing of our country’s leaders, especially via social media.
And then I read these words in Chapter 7:
“Do not waste a lot of time thinking or talking about the shortcomings or wrong actions of those in power. Their organization of the world has created your opportunity; all you get really comes to you because of them. Do not rage against corrupt politicians. If it were not for politicians we should fall into anarchy and your opportunity would be greatly lessened.”
Oh my goodness!
That one paragraph summed up all my thoughts and feelings! I don’t like people bashing of any kind anyway as it never solves anything. Wattles goes on to say that God will do away with the politician when they are no longer needed; but for now, they must remain—even those we don’t agree with.
So how exactly does gratitude fit into that scenario?
Well, if we didn’t have politicians, there would not be rules protecting our children; there would not be rules concerning harassment in the workplace; there would not be rules ensuring our civil rights. And so much more.
Gratitude. The art of finding one iota to be thankful for--with a person or situation—even when we don’t like either.
What are you grateful for today?
To your success,
“The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best. Therefore it tends to become the best. It takes the form or character of the best, and will receive the best.” ~ W.D. Wattles
