It's now late afternoon while I sit in my chair in the living room. The wind is blowing, stripping leaves from the trees. The sun appeared only for a short time today, making it seem like a true fall day -- with one exception. The temperature is a warm 82 degrees Fahrenheit! No sign of snow for this part of the woods.
I heard Chicago will have more snow this year; I have yet to hear what the prediction for my area will be. But regardless of the numbers winter is on its way with the snow and below-freezing temperatures.
Bring it on!
I can hardly imagine what it's like to live in any part of the world where there is no change of seasons. How do those areas grow without change? What spurns rebirth?
As cold as the winter months can be, I welcome the snow for its pure white granules that fall from the sky. The flakes that shine against the moonlight (what I call Christmas snow) are my favorite.
But today while driving to the store I reveled in the golds, reds, greens, and browns that lay on the ground. Color my world beautiful and serene.
Also while I now sit in my chair in the living room, I am nursing a lemon and hot water mixture to help a sore throat and cold. I look forward to one of the next changes in my life -- my body being well again and my voice returning to its normal pitch.
Sometimes it's the little things in life, don't you think, that truly are remarkable miracles?
What changes are coming your way that could be seen as miracles? I'm interested to know.
"Time doesn't always heal: it just breathes and swallows memories like the seasons change - sending showers; beating flowers into the mud. And nothing is forever in this place. Nothing but the way my heart fits in your hands; the held breath of hope;” ~Unknown
