In my last post I spoke of creating my first ever ebook with the one and only Donna Kozik and her amazing weekend writing. If you need a push to have delegated, devoted, and determined time to get on paper what’s rambling around in your head, then I highly recommend signing up for her next weekend.
I am a paid affiliate, yes, but also a true believer of Donna and her program where I get an actual product out in less than two weeks. I know the program says “in a weekend” and some do get it all done in those two days; for me, however, I know it takes the week before the weekend and then the following week to get my book done; it’s just how I work. Regardless, it is so worth the templates, the one-on-one support of Donna and your writing buddy, if you so choose, and the rest of weekend writers from all over the world.
In the United States the past week, it has been HOT! My husband and I took a little rest and relaxation to our daughter and son-in-law’s where we could cool off in their back yard pool. During this R&R, the write-a-book event was happening, so I was able to focus on my writing and not the distractions of home life.
With the mini-vacation over and time to head back home, I came down with a scratchy throat, chills, and a fever not had in a long time. When casually writing on Facebook about the heat not only outdoors but in my body as well, a friend asked if there were dreams that might lead to a blog. I did have a dream, one I’ve had before, but couldn’t remember much of it; only of being stuck in red sand, unable to move or get out. Now how’s that for a symbol?!
Just like quicksand, when you stop struggling your chance of survival is much greater than if you keep wriggling and writhing your way out of the muck.
Into the third day of my heaviest writing, words were literally stalled and stuck in my mind...I finally accepted the situation, telling myself the next day would be a better day. And it was.. I was able finish the content of the book.
Freedom means more than being able to move about the country or doing what you want; it means to be free of what internally stops you from your dreams and goals, to get out of the muck and quicksand that’s taking you under, eventually suffocating you.
My ebook? It’s on acceptance; accepting what is, what has happened, but most of all, how to accept yourself. Register at my book site to be notified when it becomes available in just a few short days.
In the meantime, what can you do to accept what's going on either around you or with you?
“The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.” ~Nathaniel Branden
