I awake to thoughts of the coming week and all that needs to be done -- and all that will be changing. While preparing to mow lawn yesterday (ah now there’s the morning dove call!) I sensed fall was here; the air held a different kind of sunlight and aura, it seemed.
The week to come will bring about a happy transition -- the marriage of my youngest son to his beautiful fiance. In a few short days relatives will arrive to help celebrate this auspicious occasion, my daughter and son-in-law who live 1,100 miles away among them.
Time marches on no matter what; it is up to us how we make use of that time. For me, the following days will be filled so many tasks, that if I look at a list of them, I’m overwhelmed and have already been put into inaction somewhat. But I choose to be calm, cool, and collected (sounds good on paper anyway!) and take the hours and minutes as they come; I can do only so much; yet I know that the overwhelm will go away with taking action on those tasks.
The birds are now waking; the cricket’s song begins to wane. The sky is getting brighter with each passing moment of the clock. Tick-tock. Tick-tock.
A beautiful day is on tap. How does your week look? What plans do you have for today? Will you stop to listen to the birds, the bugs, the sounds of time passing?
