The news recently reported a bacon shortage that would occur within the next year due to the drought. Raised on a farm that had pigs, this shortage did not make sense to me. Oh sure, I understood where it might occur with less crops to feed the pigs, but pigs eat slop; and last I knew, there is an abundance of slop!
As I listened to the story questions came to mind.
What if you did have to rely only on your own recognizes? Would you be better off? Imagine for a moment how your life could be different without any outside influence. (There’s an oxymoron for you: outside influence!)
If reporters did not share the news of the potential increased costs of items, would they happen? If financial advisors did not share the news of potential spike in oil costs, would they happen? How often do those types of reports come true?
You may think this post is completely out of my norm, but it really isn’t.
If you receive news of potential anything you have just given your inner being permission to think of the possibility. And if you believe in the Laws of the Universe, that particular vibration may come to fruition.
Think about this: only you can control your thoughts and your destiny. Turn off the outside din and turn up the volume on your inside wants, wishes, and desires. Become your own reporter or financial advisor. “[your name] will record record profits in the next few months.” Or try this one: “[your name] accomplished his/her most astonishing feat yet!”
Stop allowing the world of politics, the world of no money, and the world of doom and gloom to influence your life. Begin to take charge of your circumstances, the world immediately surrounding you, and your well-being!
Before the world or your circumstances can change, you must change
- Your way of thinking where others and your surroundings are concerned.
- The way you think about yourself.
- The way you believe in yourself, others, and that some things will never change.
A few days after the bacon shortage report came out, an update was broadcast: “No bacon shortage, but prices may be higher.”
Now, don’t you feel better? I sure do; I love my bacon!
The moral here is that the news didn’t change, only its spin by the media reports. We are preparing for higher prices because the possibility of a shortage still exists; shortage is the equivalent of price-hike, in my book.
Be your own reporter. What story is happening in your life right now that if you put a different spin on it, the situation wouldn’t seem so terrible?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
