"I wrote this book..."
![]() Debbie mentioned that she never thought of herself as a writer, but she penned a diary of sorts about how she, as a grandmother was thrown into the role of mother when her daughter had been deployed to Afghanistan.
Knowing she had a story, a message, an opportunity to capitalize on it all plus help millions of grandparents who were experiencing the same situation, I along with a group of counterparts encouraged her to take her book to get it published. Within a short time, Debbie created GrandparentsBeingParents. Several months passed and one day I received an unexpected call from Debbie. Well, what a whirlwind she's been on these past few months. She considered a second book and literally dreaming of speaking with her daughter and granddaughters on stage. But she just wasn't sure how all this was going to come about. We also talked about how it takes time to begin a business or an ideal to get it off the ground or exposed. By the time our conversation ended Debbie knew she was meant to write that second book using the layout I proposed. She was so grateful for our talk that she sent me the following testimonial: "I just wanted to share with you how much your coaching helped me realize how important it was for me to write a book. I have been struggling with what path to take and your coaching allowed me to recognize which path to take. I now feel so much calmer." The next day my phone rings again with Debbie on the other end. "I just have to call and tell you what I got in my email this morning!" she began. It was an invitation to do a LIVE interview on a local California radio station! Plus while we were talking Debbie received another email, this time from the National Guard's magazine saying they would like to meet with her. How much has happened since saying to me, "I wrote this book..."
